Do not be deceived by outward appearance | Rung roop dekh ker na bhoolye |
Money is dear to everyone | Dhan sub ko pyara hai |
All is fish that comes to his net | Ro main sub rawa hai |
A constant guest is not welcomed | Roz ka mahman balaye jaan |
Money begets money | Rupia ko Rupia khenchta hai |
Money calls but seldom stays | Rupia aani jaani shay hai |
What all men say is always true | Zaban khalh ko nakhara Khuda samjho |
The tongue talks at cost of the head | Zaba hi hathi per charaye zaban hi sir kataye |
Adding insult to the injury | Zakhmon per namak chirkna |
Everyone feels the strong man’s thumb | Zabardat ka thanga sir per |
A man without money is like a bow without an arrow | Zar hai tu nur hai werna fakhat khur hai |
A golden key opens all locks | Zar ki dhal taal de wobal |
Money makes the mare go | Zar nest tu ishq tain tain |
Alexander was once a crying babe | Zeron se shar hote hen |
Those who interpose in others fight often wipe a bloody nose | Sas baho ki howi larai sir phore mari hamsai |
Lost reputation cannot be recovered | Saakh gai phir nahi aati |
All the world goes against a person whom fortune betrays | Saain akhian phiryan beri mulk jahan |
He toiled all day and caught no fish | Sara din peesa or chutki bhar uthaya |
Truth is always victorious/A clear conscience bears no trouble | Saanch ko aanch nahi/ Such hamesha karwa hota hai |
To a jaundiced eye everything is yellow | Sawan k andhe ko hara hi soojta hai |
Speech is silver, silence is gold | Sub se bhali chup |
Appetite is ethe best sauce | Sub se bhali bhook jo paye so chook |
One devil is like the others | Sub bheren moun kali/ Iblis dosron ki tarahan hai |
Truth is better | Suchi baat adhi larai |
